Adoption
Did you know that anyone can be adopted, regardless of age?
If a child is a minor, the natural parents’ rights must be terminated, either voluntarily or involuntarily, before the minor child can be adopted by another person/persons. Parental rights can be involuntarily terminated when the natural parents have abandoned or neglected the child.
Once a child is adopted, the adoptive parents have all of the rights and responsibilities of a natural parent. Similarly, the adopted child acquires all of the rights and responsibilities of a natural child of the adoptive parents.
If you would like to discuss adoption issues, you can schedule a consultation with an experienced family law attorney at MathurLaw, LLC.
